FAQ’s

 

  • What age can I start training ?

You can join UFMA training from 14 years onwards. Under 18’s will need a parent or guardian to accompany them for the first session to complete the relevant registration forms. Please can parents and guardians note that this is a contact sport.

 

  • Can I get injured ?

As will all physical activity there is always a chance of picking up an injury however UFMA instructors do take all  necessary precautions to ensure the risk of student injuries is as low as possible. This is a contact sport and although some clubs do not, we do practice contact sparring.

 

  • How often will I grade ?

Gradings are normally held every 3 months however you will only be put forward for a grading when the instructor believes you are ready. For more information about UFMA gradings please click here.

 

  • What training equipment would I need to purchase  (Uniform) ?

You do not need to purchase any training equipment before your first grading. If you wish to purchase any equipment this is all available on the UFMA shop page : www.ufmartialarts.co.uk/shop You will need to purchase a uniform for your first grading and this can also be found by following the link to the UFMA shop. This uniform then needs to be worn to future training sessions along with your grade belt.
