UFMA is proudly led by Chief Instructor Sensei David Washington, 4th Dan Black Belt. With
over 25 years dedicated to martial arts, Sensei David brings extensive knowledge and a deep understanding of various disciplines. He has refined and combined this
expertise over time to forge the unique curriculum of UFMA.

Also instructing at UFMA is Andy Boxall, holding a 1st Dan Black Belt. Andy has been
dedicated to martial arts training for over 6 years. As an ex-British Army member, he brings a disciplined approach to his practice. Andy particularly enjoys the variety of techniques offered through training at UFMA.

04.

Martial Arts Style

UFMA teaches a high-energy Freestyle discipline that blends the most effective elements of Kickboxing, Karate, Taekwondo, Jujutsu, and Dim Mak. While our approach is modern, we retain core traditional principles and terminology to provide a solid foundation of discipline and respect.

Our integrated syllabus bridges the gap between athletic competition and practical self-defence, ensuring students develop technical precision at a pace suited to their individual ability. The result is a highly effective toolkit for both the mats and the street, designed to be accessible and impactful for all ages and skill levels.

05.

Self Defence

Self-defence at UFMA uses a proven combination of strikes, joint manipulation, locks, and pressure points to neutralise or restrain an aggressor. This versatile system provides the ability to apply the most relevant technique to any threat, allowing you to protect both yourself and others effectively.

Our methods are so practical they are utilised by law enforcement and door supervisors. By focusing on these professional standards, we ensure our syllabus remains accessible yet highly impactful for real-world scenarios.
